Anglophile Competition: Win a trip to England to say hello to Paddington Bear!

I remember the lovely Paddington Bear stories with such fondness. And it wasn’t just the books and the toys; I adored the old cartoon narrated by the late, great Michael Hordern. It probably seems quite antiquated to younger audiences but for me it’s rather special:

So… imagine my surprise when I heard about the new “Paddington Bear” version coming out this Christmas. Narrated by Nicole Kidman, Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Peter Capaldi and Ben Whishaw as the voice of Paddington. It looks very, very different.

Anyway, those nice people at Visit London are giving away a smashing prize in their new competition:

  • Return travel to London for up to two adults and two children in 2015
  • Three nights at the Lancaster London with breakfast, dinner on one day at Island Grill, and Paddington toys
  • £100 to spend in the Paddington Shop
  • A Paddington book signed by the author, Michael Bond
  • London attraction tickets: Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, the London Eye and ZSL London Zoo

The promotion runs throughout the campaign period from 7 September 2014 until 5 Jan 2015 – so you’ve got plenty of time to enter… Go on, grab a marmalade sandwich and good luck!
