It’s less than a week before the great Scottish people vote whether to leave the union of the United Kingdom. There are some serious repercussions for Britain if they do decide to leave, cutting the three-century ties between us. Not least, it may cost me more than $75 to get a bottle of the lip-smacking Oban whisky shipped across the Atlantic.
Priorities, people. Priorities.
Although, to be honest, it shouldn’t make much difference traveling to Scotland as an American tourist. It’s still a part of the EU and you still will be welcomed with open arms by the natives in the tourist areas. What kind of money you will be using, however, is still up for debate.
So with time possibly running out, here is a nice list of the top 8 most magnificent castles in Scotland while it’s still part of Britain, starting with an absolutely beautiful one…
(PS.. if you wish to send me a complimentary bottle of Oban during this difficult time, that would be most appreciated.)
