Guess what Downton Abbey fans in America? There’s to be another load of Downton Abbey in 2016 as the immensely popular show has just been renewed. Plus, you’ve still got season 5 to watch in January on PBS. It’s an Abbey-tastic telly fest for everyone.
Series five (or season as Americans call it) has been watched by an average audience of 10.4 million viewers per episode in the UK since it began in September.
Gareth Neame, the managing director of Carnival Pictures who makes the show, said: “We have had an amazing reaction to the storylines, acting and production values of Downton Abbey this year and the whole team is thrilled to be moving ahead with a new season of the show. This will provide audiences with a fresh opportunity to see what will befall our much loved characters.”
